Plymouth County
Marshfield-Winslow House
The Winslow House was originally the house of Penelope Winslow, wife of Governor Josiah Winslow.  She moved there after the death of her husband with her sons and their wives.  Penelope is still very much felt by the people who currently live there, although I was unable to find specific things she has done..

Middleboro-Assawokpsett Lake
This is one of many more rural areas in Massachusetts to boast of paranormal activity, and the area where the original tales of the Puk-Wudjees comes from (read about them more in my Freetown report.)  The lake is one of the largest in the area, and when archaeologist worked there in the late fifties, they uncovered a Native American vacation spot, some remains dating back to 2,300 BC.  The work suddenly stopped and the sight was abandoned.  Lights started to appear in the sky near where they had worked, and people witnessed what looked like Native Americans appear and then disappear before their eyes.  One little girl started having an imaginary friend who she described as having lived there thousands of years ago.  One man who took an artifact from the sight dreamt of an elderly Native American standing over him.  When he woke the artifact was gone.  People still feel uneasy there, like something is watching them.

Plymouth Lighthouse

The lighthouse was once tended by John Thomas and hid wife Hannah.  When John was called off to service, Hannah took over all of the responsibilities of the lighthouse.  She tended to all the duties while watching the distance for her husband to return.  He never did and eventually Hannah gave up her job and passed away.  Her spirit seems to have stayed on at the lighthouse, but she makes her presence known only to men.  People have heard her footsteps or heard an unknown female voice.  Others have seen a faint figure they describe as looking sad.
